8/24 and 8/25

East and West Branches plus the main stem, not much to look at sometimes, but an astonishing fishery.

8/24 and 8/25

Rivers are in incredible shape, low to moderate levels with good clarity.Fished Tuesday by myself getting 20 smallies, mostly on the short side but did finish up with a nice 17 1/2 and losing a bigger one right at dark. All fish caught in slower, deeper water but near the faster water.
Wednesday fishing with a good friend in full sun starting at 1pm proved to work out better than expected. We have not done well in the chosen area near Plainfield but today was to be different. We have seen big fish in this area but for what ever reason things haven't gone well. This time it was different.Again the riffle fast water did not produce, instead it was more related to the bubble line and seams. We covered a lot of water drifting stickworms on a light jig or split shot and sometimes a woolyhawgtail.Only one spot about thirty yards wide produced more than a few fish. Not only more fish but bigger fish.My friend Dick got the upper hand today getting big fish honors with a 17 1/2 but should have had at least two more bigger ones.Ended up with about forty fish with five over fifteen.

Does Dick know you put his mug up on my site? I thought he was incognito these days.
Say hi for me, been a long time.

I've been driving past that spot a lot lately, but don't have the time to stop.

How long before I can retire?

Dick says Hi,right back at you.We have been fishing together lately and discussed how we both got so interested in local river fishing,It's all your fault, thank you.As far as early retirement you need a sugar momma like mine. She loves her work and as long as I take care of the other stuff it's all good.
Here's another couple of pictures from our last getogether.
BTW; how do you guys post your pics to fit the way they do?

I can't figure out why yours come up with the scroll bars. I downloaded and opened one in Photoshop and you have it damn near perfect.

Maybe it has something to do with the site where you put the pictures. Nobody else has the issue. Where do you host the pics?

If I hold down the option key and then click on the picture, it opens up the way it should be. Has to be your host.

I first met Dick standing on the footbridge that crosses Mill Creek. I thought I talked a lot. :D

I didn't know I'd turn him into a river fishing junkie with that simple meeting.

Everything is my fault, you get used to it. Carol thanked me once for getting you interested. Gets you out of her hair. :P :P
