Sorry for not getting on here for a bit. Busy.

I never did wind up camping. There is a campground about a mile down stream from the park, but I never figured out how to get there. What I planned on doing was just fishing and finding a spot along the river. I have a real lightweight tent. I found spots where I'm sure no one would even notice.

At the Salem Thompson unit, you can park by either of the bridges that go over the river. Just be prepared to hike back. No choice. My favorite stretch is just hike up stream from the state park. I think I've gone a good mile and a half. If you get the Gezatteer, there is one more spot the state owns that can be accessed through private land. I was told over 10 years ago that you just have to stop by the owners place and ask and he'll tell you where he wants you to park.

I only did the trips out there as day trips. Leave here at 4 a.m. and head back after sunset. Be prepared to drink lots of coffee on the way home, drive with the window down and the music blaring. It really isn't that bad.

Did I forget anything? When you guys are ready to go we'll meet up and I'll go over a map and more details.

Cool, thanks Ken. Its looking like it is going to be the weekend of the 30th.
You can never fish the same river twice, by the time you get back it's not the same river.
