Small Game

I try my hand at everything and try to write something about the adventures. Successful or failed.

Small Game

Post by Dan »

I'm looking to get into small game hunting this season. Who knows dates and areas I could go? Ken, I remember you talking about it before. Squirrel, Bird, whatever. Thanks

Sorry I missed this Dan.
Things I believe are winding down.
You'll have to look up Marseilles, I forget when that place shuts down. When deer is over, squirrel out there ends.

If all you want to do is wander around to see what it's like, all the state parks that offer pheasant hunting have clean up days. Silver Springs I think is next week. First come, first serve and it's free. Des Plaines, Kankakee both do that too.

If you can come up with the cash, you can go to private pheasant facilities into March I think. I always liked Rooster Heaven. Can't think of the other ones off the top of my head. That would be a good one to go with a couple of people and split the cost for one of the club guides with a dog. Would be worth it if you could swing it.

If anyone has any feathers to donate, let me know. I'm uh.... a reluctant fly fisherman now.
