Might be Good for the Weekend

Post by Ken G »

But I'm screwing up time wise. I'm sure I'll find an hour to two to get out.

The Fox has leveled off at 8300 cfs and based on the past, this could take awhile to come down.

The creeks on the other hand might be different, only you may have to head inland. I think the Fox being in the mouths is going to screw that up. Drove over three creeks tonight on the way home from work about 4-5 miles inland. Still muddy as hell, but their levels were starting to stabilize. I think they'll be a little high, but clearer come the weekend.

Problem is, will there be fish. These floods tend to blow them out for a little while.

Big Rock, Little Rock and Blackberry so you know.

I hit a few Fox highwater spots and did well given the conditions and the amount of time I had to spend. Dipping boulders ain't rocket science, you have to wan to fish that way...

I can't get all that excited about high water fishing anymore Sam. Did it too many times. Oh look, an obstruction...

Waubonsie could be good. If the Fox gets down to the 3000 level, the mouth could be exceptional. Was last year. The long current seam coming off that little island is worth a few dozen tosses.

Some kids built a little rock dam across the creek under the 25 bridge, unless this water blew it out. That's always a fish holder either way.
