Lots of Conservation Stuff Lately

To me the two go hand in hand. If we don't protect it today, we won't have it around tomorrow. There's a lot of help needed and issues that need attention. And why go to a grocery store when you can go right to the source.

The Batavian Environmental Commission’s
Conference on Environment, Energy and Conservation 2009

The Batavia Environmental Commission is hosting this public conference which includes presentations and exhibits.
Presentations will be made by a variety of local, regional and state groups including the
Batavia Environmental Commission
The Environmental Law and Policy Center
Citizen Utility Board
Center for Neighborhood Technology – Energy
Batavians for a Healthy River
Batavians for Clean Energy and Conservation
Naperville for Clean Energy and Conservation
Kane County Environmental and Energy Technology Committee
and others.
These presentations will outline the goals of each group, their current projects and future goals.
Exhibits will feature area groups and companies promoting energy saving techniques and technologies, environmentally friendly products and even distribution of free CFLs! A recycling education program featuring "The Recycling Game" will be filmed by BATV for rebroadcast as part of an ongoing recycling education program. BCEC will host the game “How Low Can You Go” outlining the most effective energy saving steps for the home.

Since 1858, the Illinois Natural History Survey has been the guardian and recorder of the biological resources of Illinois---the state's biological memory. With a staff of more than 200 scientists and technicians, it is recognized as the premier natural history survey in the nation. The mission of the Illinois Natural History Survey is to investigate and document the biological resources of Illinois and other areas, and to acquire and provide natural history information that can be used to promote the common understanding, conservation, and management of these resources.
