4/24/10 Fox Creek Eventually

Post by Ken G »

Started out at East Aurora high school watching my badminton fanatic kick butt. Wound up in second place going 4-1. Her and her team mate have only lost 3 games. Two to the same Naperville girls. A hump they can't seem to get over.

Then to discount tires where I saw the coolest custom made motorcycle ever.

Then off to Jiffy Lube to frustrate myself killing time reading Field & Stream. Popped open the magazine to still another lame article about casting lures up stream in rivers for smallies. No wonder people get frustrated fishing rivers. Don't cast up stream.

Had to torture myself on a creek that I knew was going to be devoid of fish. I was correct. At least of fish that I wanted to catch. There were plenty of suckers, everywhere. I should have gone a few miles further west to Somanauk. Instead I had a nice walk with some mediocre pictures.

The water looked very good in spite of the rain we had the night before. Crystal clear and not up at all. Nothing worse than good looking dead water. But this happened on this creek last two years. Not sure what's up. Didn't used to react like that. Now it's twin creek is just the opposite. Go there, catch fish. Go figure.

April showers are supposed to bring May flowers, but out in the woods the wild flowers are already getting pretty much done. The sun is going away under the thickening canopy of leaves, so the the flowers go too.
