8-24-08 Fox Fishing

Post by Ken G »

Didn't think I was getting out this weekend, but first light Sunday had me awake so went and fished Saw-Wee-Kee park in Oswego for a couple of hours.

Had the place to myself. Picked up 16 smallies, all dinks under 10 inches, and missed quite a few more.
This is much better than just a couple of weeks ago when I had to struggle to catch 3 in the exact same area.

The south shore out in front of the houses has some nice structure and at the current water level can get crotch deep. Just enough to hold fish.

The north side, on the other side of the islands, is where the deeper water is. On a good day, you can stand in waist deep water while swimming a jig and twister 15 feet away and catch all the fish you want.

None of the fish were in slack water. There had to be some kind of current.
