Re: Kentucky Lake
Didn't find much of what we were looking for, but caught a bunch of species new to us over the weekend. I am waiting to get pictures from my brothers' cameras and trying to finish up what will be a hugely long writeup over on my blog, but for now, here is as much of the tally as I can remember. Larg...

Jelke Creek Bird Sanctuary Pond
Teaching my daughter how to use a spinning reel. It was a combined effort, but, at least she got to feel the pull of a fish. Grace.jpg Then, on our last cast (well..the actual last cast of our several declared "last casts") we pulled in this one, the biggest, baddest of the 4 we caught. Je...

Kentucky Lake
Taking a trip to Kentucky to visit my mom's parents before they buy the farm. Looks like we will get a day or so on Kentucky Lake. My dad has already arranged a couple boat rentals, so the only question becomes: where do we fish? Kentucky Lake appears to be ginormous, and I think my dad passed up th...

Re: Waders
I was supposed to be spending my jury duty check on my first pair of waders, but then I cracked the rim on my bike and had to use it for a complete rebuild of my wheel, so, perhaps with Father's Day and my birthday next month I can get some then.
I want to go wading so bad.

Re: Fishermen's Bill of Rights
Have you read Gierach's "No Shortage Of Good Days?" There is a chapter in there about fishing public waters that run through private property. His style is all short-form essay...diary type stuff, really. Not dissecting the laws and rules or anything, just talking about how he negotiates w...

Re: Anthony Mikos AKA: DrinkBourbon/George's Clam
I actually love Chris' blog because I can relate to it. He is just going to go fishing and tell us all about it no matter what happens. I like that. Truth be told, if I had the time and resources he appears to have, my blog would read a lot like his. I usually have a line in the water at least once ...

Re: Phone Users
Forum browsing can always be a little dicey on phones. There are apps for accessing phpBB boards, but I haven't had the best experience with them. I'd suggest trying a 3rd party browser. Safari for iOS sucks and most of the stock browsers on Android phones aren't great either. Atomic is a good alter...
