Re: Where'd the water go
Water is perfect level for wading. No question about it. However, the river is EXTREMELY murky/muddy. My brother, dad, and I were out today, and the visibility was no more than 3-6 inches... The water clarity made it very, very difficult to locate any kind of fish today. I was using a white crystagl...

July 15th Update
Got a really nice one two days after this trip, on only our second time to the river. http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg119/kedzepe/100_0616.jpg http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg119/kedzepe/100_0617.jpg What a beautiful fish. Best smallie of the year so far... Hoping to change that soon.

Re: Mazon River 7-13 AM (Picture Heavy!!)
We'll have to see how it ends up looking farther up and down river from where we were. From what we saw, it looks excellent. Rock bottom everywhere we waded, some shelf rock, some boulders, some gravel, but all rock. No sinking in the mud or messing around with sand/clay bottoms. Good wading riverbe...

Mazon River
What are people's thoughts? Anyone else been out here before? My brother, dad, and I were out there today for several hours exploring, and doing a little fishing here and there, since it was our first time out. (He's going to post some pics and report I believe) All I can say is, what an absolutely ...

Re: 05/30/09 and 06/01/09
Have you fished many of the Fox River Creeks? I know you've ventured out into Mill, Little Rock, and Big Rock, but have you fished any others? I'm always up for some hiking/exploring if you can find a nice, isolated creek to wade through for the afternoon. As long as there is somewhere I can park an...

Thanks to Ken G. and his wonderful advice, I had a couple of great days out on the creek. Caught probably 40 smallmouth between the two days. Saturday was from around 7 a.m. until 9 a.m., with my pops, and Monday was from around 2:30 p.m. until around 5:30 p.m. with my brother. All fish were caught ...

Re: 5/30/09 Fox River and a Creek
My dad and I fished Mill Creek today and did pretty well. Caught a couple decent smallies, but a ton of little ones. Sounds like you were just downstream from us.

Re: 5/29/09 Fox River Oswego
Very nice fish. I wish I had as much luck as you did when there's high water, but truth be told, I just suck at finding good spots to fish when the river is raging.

Amen... I've been out on the rivers/creeks twice, and both times were pretty unfishable.
