Re: C'mon winter!!

I never heard of anyone saying at the end of thier life, I wished I had worked more. I understand the desire for some financial security but don't let it rule your life. It doesn't have to be fishing but make some to to enjoy life with the family now. It doesn't have to be a trip to Disney World, lo...

Re: 1-21

Sam, I have many more people tell me you can't catch fish doing that than do. I once had a guy wade half way across the river to tell me I was fishing all wrong, even as he watched me catching fish doing that. He said all the books said it wasn't the correct way to fish crankbaits. Tueday, less wind...

Well the cold weather is bringing the ice back to the river. Some stretches just have ice along the shore in the slower stretches, others are flowing ice shore to shore and others have some shoreline ice with ice chunks flowing. The gauges are suspect due to the ice but the eyeball exam says it's ab...

Christmas day on the river, hands raw in the damp air, leaden skies dropping intermittent white flakes that vanish with nary a moment to linger upon my coat. The solitude enhanced by the river rolling over rocks and the mallards, geese and gulls feeding downstream. Beads of ice glimmering on broken,...

With the recent rains the river is on the rise and over the normal flow rate for this time of year by a bit. Visibilty is about 6 inches, water temps at 35.2, got some algae being moved but not enough. For most of the day it was pleasnt weather wise, got a bit chillier in late afternoon. Today was j...

Flow rate dropped a bit, clarity and water temps same as yesterday. The day started the same weather wise as yesterday but before it was over the front blew in and if definitely got colder. When I finally called it a day the water was starting to form ice bits on the line, always fun to feel bouncing...

The rain had little effect on the river, the gauge barely moved, I could still see my wading boots in three feet of water and the temps were in the low 40"s. Wih no real additional flow the algae remains where it was although some of it seems to be dying. The air temps weren't bad, still gettin...
