Re: 12-29

New kayak section... It's always been there Sam. I have an out of state lakes and ponds section. I'll do an Out of State Rivers one for you. Maybe later today. Time to try to appear better organized. Those are spotted bass you're getting, aren't they. Bizarro fish. A cross between a smallie, largemo...

Re: Small Game

Sorry I missed this Dan. Things I believe are winding down. You'll have to look up Marseilles, I forget when that place shuts down. When deer is over, squirrel out there ends. If all you want to do is wander around to see what it's like, all the state parks that offer pheasant hunting have clean up ...

Re: Did you just give up or?

Old thread I know, but today would have been a perfect day to wander around Marseilles looking for skirels. And no, I have done no hunting this season at all. Too cold, too busy, too broke. Hoping to change things for 2014. Will be saving nearly $300 a month in rent alone, so we'll see. I would like...

Re: No, It's Not the Internet

Don't worry Adam, my other nick name is the fishing asshole. So I have that pretty well locked up. Bob Long once mentioned that 90 percent of the fish are caught by 10 percent of the fishermen. I think he was being overly generous. I like that 1% ers and I completely agree. I don't know how many tim...

Re: Anyone here ever hear of this river?

I'm putting everything on hold till I find another place to live. Plus the wife appears to have had a mild heart attack this past week and things aren't quite back to normal. More tests, more tests and still more tests. I have no interest in doing anything online or e-zine. People expect it for free...

Re: Anyone here ever hear of this river?

Give it to the reader free, make money from the advertising. The first year or so would be the expensive part until you were able to build enough of a readership that you could sell to advertisers. The problem is that there are so many out there that are filled with regurgitated articles, it would ...

That was one of the appeals of the place Dan, but we're walking away from it. Dealing with Real Estate rep and the owner is just odd and we don't like odd.

Re: Anyone here ever hear of this river?

Hm. I read Heartland every now and then. Not very often. I thought about getting in touch but they won't publish what I'd want to write. I'd like to read a mag that was less newsy and more experiential. Seems like a national mag like that might be a go. Round up all the good local writers to pitch ...

Re: Commuting and Work

And Ed, one of the few places south and southwest of the city that I always liked as a kid was Lemont. Was there a few months ago. Not sure what the appeal is, but I just like the way it looks. Still do. You really can't beat the closeness of all the Forest Preserves around there.
