Re: Saturday Dawn Patrol

Fuck fuck fuck 34 is almost exactly 1 hour south of me. If gas and work were not factors in this equation I might just join you, as it looks like I aint doing jack shit tonight.

Re: Finally

Mazeltov, amigo. First river smallmouth is always a revelation.

I've had Williams catalogs delivered to me for years and still haven't purchased anything or attempted to brew anything. I'm gonna do it some day, and I may ask for your assistance when I do because, well, you know that kind of stuff.

It's probably a ways down the road for me, unfortunately, but I'll start setting pennies aside.

Re: Brands/sites/tackle you like to use

Oh wow that is cheaper than I expected. Met a buddy at Cabela's last week and was looking around. Saw some St. Croix rods for $120 or so. I can't fathom paying that much for a rod, but a big portion of that is definitely sour grapes.

What does one pay for a custom built rod?

Re: So That's Where all the Fish Went...

1/32 oz feather jig has been doing it for me in the creeks. Smallmouth everwhere from 4-10 inches, most of them in 3 feet of water or so. Acquired a couple more small jigs today. Might go find a new creek before work Saturday morning.

Re: Naperville PFD ordinance?

Does farting in your waders make them a PFD?

Re: Brands/sites/tackle you like to use

Cabin Creek is the company that makes the feathered jigs we were using in the creek on Sunday. I picked those up at Dick's, but I think the website certainly falls under your parameters.

Re: Advice for the first time wader?

If only it were as simple as just driving an hour south and fishing all day, Ken, then I absolutely would.

Thanks for the tips.
